*Full View Plz!*
(And for anyone who thinks this is big, I should point out that the original image was 2000x2000 pixels! XD)
What lies beneath may never be seen,
No matter how brightly it may shine,
The true intentions of this beast will never be known,
untill it is done biding it's time...

Oooh lookie, he's all glowy 'n stuff!
I thought up this character 2 days ago, and started this pic late yesterday morning. Meaning this character was thought up, sketched, and put into a detailed pic in less than 2 days. That's a record for me. As well as the first time I've actually made my first real image of a new character in an interesting pose/setting versus the normal boring static pose of them just standing there staring off somewhere.
This is the culmonation of a bunch of random character ideas falling together by accident. Basically I'd been wanting to make a character with a bit of an unuaual color scheme, such as florescents. (And thanks to a Trans Siberian Orchestra concert I recently went to see with my friend Byzil, I noticed how cool dark purple and neon green can look together. Yay lazer shows!) As well as a want to do something cool and glowy. And I've recently found characters with unique markings to be interesting.
So while I was busy racking my brain trying to redesign one of my current characters, I ended up envisioning a new unique character. (My brain loves to do other random creative things when I'm trying to focuss it toward a purpose.) So I made a quick sketch. Which a friend of mine seemed to think was a really cool character idea. So I decided to pursue it further as soon as I had a nice mental image.

This is Tyiri (Tee-ih-ree), a member of some unknown aquatic race. His find as well as the webbing between his fingers and toes glow rather brightly in the water. (And not so much out of it) His body is covered in a short sleak fur (think like an otter), made for gliding through the water as well as keeping him warm. The markings on his body are not entirely natural, they are a ceremonial addition as is tradition in his culture. As are the three glowing orbs linked to the tips of his tail. (The tail splits into three ends, each holding an orb)
And that's about all I've thought into it so far. But then again, what do you expect for him being just 2 days old? LoL.
**The glow does actually hide a bit of the detail, so if people want, I could post a version without the glow, just to show the tail tips and such.**

We all know that this year's Blueray, is gonna be a Redray. The HD DVD failed because it wasn't catchy enough. So it will be replaced by the HHDDVVDDBVD. Visit Togenkyo: [link]
I'm glad Tyiri came across as original, that's what I was really shooting for. (Hadn't really seen any characters with that sort of color scheme before. Much less an aquatic one with glowing fins )And the water itself took quite a bit of searching to find any good references. So I'm glad that part came out good as well.
In this article I will provide you some ideas how you can build your own homestudio for considerably cheaper price than it would cost to use "official" studio gear. I will also show you few examples where I have used the gear I describe during this article.
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More

The race you have their looks very nicely designed, with the glowing parts and all. The thing I like most is the water surface. Looks freakin' real.
Good job! Keep it up!

I appreciate the feedback.
